Summer Theatre
The Ciechocinek Summer Theatre was established in 1891 according to the design of the architect Schimmelpfennig. Many famous Polish stage performers were drawn to the theatre throughout its history. The historic, art nouveau theatre building is one of three wooden buildings of this type in Europe. After having been carefully restored, it was opened again in 1998. In 2013, a sculpture of Jerzy Waldorff was placed on the square in front of the Summer Theatre. Jerzy Waldorff was a writer, journalist, music critic and social activist, who initiated the fund-raising for the renovation of the Summer Theatre.
